CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK IN SPAIN

HOW CAN I APPLY FOR THE CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE IN SPAIN?
If you are living abroad, Reuters Solicitors will prepare a document in order to represent you and act on your behalf.
We will also pay the Tax and we will submit the documentation to the “Oficina Central de Atención al Ciudadano del Ministerio de Justicia” or to “Gerencia Territorial de Justicia” of each Spanish Region.
WHY IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN A SPANISH CRIMINAL RECORD WHILE LIVING ABROAD?
As per our experience, it is almost impossible to get the CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE while living abroad because it is difficult to meet the requirements if you are not located in Spain. For that reason, we recommend you to hire our services.
WHICH IS THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION TO ASK FOR A CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE IN SPAIN?
There are some requirements that must be completed in order to ask for CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE IN SPAIN:
A) Authorization |
B) Passport copy |
C) Tax payment |
A) Authorization: Also called “Representación Apud Acta”.
The authorization will allow Reuters Solicitors to act on the applicant´s behalf and request the CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE.
The authorization should be legalized in front of a Notary, Embassy or Consulate based on the city where the applicant is located.
B) Passport copy: It is called “compulsado passport copy”.
In order to obtain the CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE, a copy of the applicant´s passport should be legalized and stamped by a Notary, Embassy or Consulate.
C) Tax Payment: It is called “MODELO 790”.
The modelo 790 should be filled and pay in order to request for CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE.
In 2022, the tax is 3.86.-€.
All the requested documentation should be sent to “Oficina Central de Atención al Ciudadano del Ministerio de Justicia” or to “Gerencia Territorial de Justicia” of each Spanish Region.
HOW LONG DOES A CRIMINAL CERTIFICATE RECORD TAKE TO GET IT?
It will take no longer than 10 working days to obtain your certificate since all documentation is submitted to “Oficina Central de Atención al Ciudadano del Ministerio de Justicia”.
HOW DOES A CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE LOOK LIKE?
Once the documentation is submitted to the Spanish Authorities, they will provide the Criminal Record Certificate by post.
The Criminal Record Certificate looks like as follow:

Canada is not a member of the Hague Convention so it is not necessary the Apostille.
The document sent from Ministerio de Justicia is valid in Canada without the Apostille.

I have dual citizenship, I have DNI, and I have set up a Clave account to complete my form online.
However, I cannot pay the £3.86 because I do not have a Spanish bank account, I live in the UK.
Even when I try to use a Spanish family members bank account, it says it cannot complete because the account isn’t under my name.
How can I pay £3.86 and complete the form online?
